Payday is fun but I need to play it coop with some people as I only tried a single player thing is morning. Maybe I could record something one day.

Friday is coming closer and with it comes Battlefield 3. I did bite the bullet and preorder it but if only for the Strike at Karkland expansion and the fact I must of enjoyed myself in the Beta since I got to rank 37. I may be a lover of Battlefield 2, 2142, 1942 and the original Vietnam on the PC I refuse to buy BF3 on PC because if a few things.

1. Origin.

I have Steam and I love Steam and Valve and while you can argue the analyse system and machine thing both systems do is bad on EA and fine for valve and sort of double standard. Valve earned our trust while EA is still wildly know for shoddy business practices such as closure of good studios (Westwood studios, Visceral Games etc), Online Passcodes and buying power aka early weapon unlocks (Dead Space, BFBC2, MOH) , For going fans and approved design to reach “wider audiences” a.k.a MoH, BFBC, C&C), terrible ad campaigns (Dead Space & mothers, blatant immature middle fingers at competitors in going beyond the call of duty for BF3 ad campaign), pressuring or bribing reviewers and making their own up reviews http://kotaku.com/5851157/ea-caught-pressuring-publications-over-battlefield-3-reviews - http://kotaku.com/5782097/dragon-age-ii-dev-rates-his-own-game-on-metacritic-ea-bets-obama-voted-for-himself-too

All that is bad company being bad (Oh unintentional pun how I love thee) what’s this got to do with Origin? All those practices leave me to be suspicious of Origin as it is just the old EA downloader rebranded. Rebrand doesn’t sound bad right? Well it would be if it wasn’t forced down PC gamers necks. If you want to play BF3 (even the single player) you have to go through Origin and the battlelog, you have to go through what feels like a marketing experiment. It foregoes the norm and arguably comes out worse. Even if it is better it feels like I’m forced into it because I have to log in with EA, load up a web page (we know how some browsers can eat up memory) and go through that rather than simply loading up the game and picking out from the in game browser. Maybe Origin wouldn’t be bad if it had more than EA’s game but since it is exclusively EA and holds onto a monopoly of EA exclusive titles I am forced to go through what feels like a loyalty test and a way for the money to be more direct to EA rather than through a Direct to Drive provider.

I hear arguments for both sides but I refused to even play the PC beta and the glory that is apparently Caspain Border. [I will say I don’t mind Battlelog in one sense, the stats tracking while not as in depth as heat maps etc on the Call Of duty games is good enough for me] I am sceptical and I will always be sceptical when it comes to EA. Though a limit my experience by playing console at least I can play it without a test.

2. PC

Graphics card isn’t up to the task to playing on High/Ultra. Nuff said.

ANYWAYS

From what I hear my the other nations already playing it (terrible EU release dates), the games single player (Something that many people skip nowadays) isn’t a mature story for a mature audiences but rather OMG so REAL SO it must be mature and suffers from bad voice acting, unmemorable characters and cliché plot. You can argue MW3 has a cliché plot but we expect it to be that way and can be let for it trying to be a michael bay film oh and MW3 characters are memorable (this was lacking in Black Ops but it had some nice quotes [THE NUMBER MASON WHAT DO THEY MEAN!])

I haven’t been posting myself much because I’ve been playing Dark Souls and other console titles and I can’t get good screen shots on those (maybe one day I’m get a HD PVR AND BE LIEK ALL TEH COOL YOUTBERS HURR) Maybe I’ll do my own Fallout screenshots like Cupid but then again theya re filled with WEEABOO Mods.

Fuck it.
